The prefix “geo” identifies, as is known, planet Earth, as well as its possible declinations. Among these, “Geometry” emerges, in particular Pythagorean and Euclidean geometry. The artistic project “Geosculture” began from these initial mathematical concepts. In truth, geometry is present in other mosaic realities of the artist Patrizia Dalla Valle, such as in “Astral Geometry”, which originates from both the “golden section” and the “Platonic solids”. But in that previous project the perfection of historical geometry is investigated, with expressive freedom. In “Geosculture”, however, we start from those ancient foundations to expand into a lexical abstraction that gives new ideas to the concepts of flat and solid geometry. The shapes take on volumetric trends detached from precise mathematical canons, while still suggesting the geometric matrix. Both the sculptures in the round and the panels with overhanging inserts demonstrate the desire to go beyond the rigidity of purely aesthetic perfection for an announcement of cosmic universal freedom. The colors of the mosaic tiles and the material interstices refer to the colors of nature. But these shades are always associated with the timbres of the artist’s soul, imbued with chromaticisms consonant with the various facets of human existence.
